FOLDERS

Each student will be given a travel folder to use throughout the year.  Please make sure to check this folder each day for homework  and special notices. It is also important that this folder be sent back to school each day.

HOMEWORK Recommendations
•  20 minutes of reading (at least!)
•  Math Fact Practice (5-10 minutes)
• Occasionally long term projects or assignments may be given, in this case an assignment sheet will be sent home.

SNACK
Third grade will have a snack each day. Please limit snacks to one small item and a small drink. Students are encouraged to keep a water bottle in the classroom.

RECESS
Third graders will go outside for recess whenever possible.  Please make sure your child is dressed appropriately for the weather. Students who wish to play in the snow must be wearing snow pants and boots.

LUNCH & MILK
School lunch and milk is available each day.  The menu is uploaded to the Burgess website at the beginning of each month.

BIRTHDAYS
This year Burgess will continue to implement a healthy celebrations program.  We will still celebrate birthdays, but we ask that you do not send in food items.

Birthday invitations handed out at school should be include all boys, all girls, or the whole class.  Thank you!
